Getting to Know: The Art Institute of Chicago

Chicago Venues We Love: The Art Institute

The Art Institute of Chicago never ceases to leave us breathless with its assortment of historic and eclectic art pieces. This popular museum also makes for a very high-in-demand venue for events—and we can certainly see why after a recent tour. Social Event Producer Cheyanne Jackson shared more details on the space and how it can offer your guests the most unique experience below.

Tell us about your venue and the experience it offers:

Surrounded by some of the world’s finest art, we have eight unique event spaces to fit every style. What we love about the Art Institute is that you can be a guest at two different weddings here and not even realize it is the same venue (Trust me, guests as me this all the time!) With one million square feet, we have two large wings that can hold completely different event flows and styles. And that is just the venue. We are also the exclusive onsite catering, BON APPETIT, and focus on buying local and the freshest ingredients for our events. This is not your typical wedding meal. We offer a unique experience of opening the galleries during cocktail hour to give your guests a memorable experience. We offer unique Bridal Party photo opportunities with world famous artwork, our grand staircases and our bridge way over looking the Chicago Skyline.

How many guests can the venue hold?

From small intimate gatherings of 20 to a large wedding of 500 for a seated dinner and reception style dancing, we can accommodate up to 1,200 in our largest event space.

Are there both indoor and outdoor amenities?

YES!

Do you have multiple rooms available for hosting events?

YES.

How many months in advance do you recommend booking an event?

One year in advance is the standard. For the more popular summer weekends we are even seeing these booked at a year and a half out.
