Tell us about your venue and the experience it offers.
The Palmer House is the most historic hotel in Chicago, operating since 1893. The first Palmer House was a wedding gift to Bertha Honore from Potter Palmer on the occasion of their marriage in 1871. Thirteen days later, the hotel was burned to the ground, along with the rest of the city. Rebuilt by 1893, the Palmer House has not closed its doors since.
Our guests experience beauty in our two story lobby, while sipping cocktails in our Lobby Bar. The magnificent Empire Room, steps up from the Lobby was the premier show room in Chicago from 1933 until 1977. The Empire Room is the last stop on a bride’s quest for the perfect wedding venue. Our Grand Ballroom accommodates up to 700 guests and has been the chosen venue for many of the major galas and fundraising events held in the city.
